Why it is important to buy your professional Hair products from your Hairdresser!

· Your Stylist Knows What’s Best for you. Have you ever walked out of the salon feeling super confident about your hair, but dreading the moment you must wash and try to recreate the same look… This is something all clients confess while they are sitting in our chairs. If you are the person who wears a ponytail day in and day out, or the person who can’t seem to master the look you envision for the day, chances are you’re using the wrong tools or products. From shampoo and conditioner, all the way to your finishing spray, it all matters.

The great news is that with some coaching, personalising your products to suit your needs and the right tools, styling your hair can be just as easy as it looks when your hairdresser is in charge.

· Investment. In the hair industry, you get what you pay for. There are many things to consider whilst shopping for styling products, like pharmacy vs salon, cheap vs professional, convenience, and cost. Your hair is an investment. You are paying good money to have a great hair experience at the salon and top quality results, so why would you go home and use products that weren’t recommended by your stylist? Professional salon products may cost more than Pantene or Dove, but there are so many reasons why they’re worth the investment. In terms of money spent, your dollars are stretched about the same as spending less on a lower quality product. Here’s why:

· Higher Quality. Professional products that are sold directly from the salon will have higher concentration of ingredients, meaning they last longer as you use less with better results. Over time cheaper products will leave your hair in worse condition due to harmful chemicals that strip your scalp of its natural oils and in turn dry out your hair and cause flaking. Cheaper products are also silicone based, so they create a buildup on the hair over time. Professional products are designed to cleanse and nourish the hair and scalp from the inside out and the ingredients used are less invasive.

· Product Guarantee. Did you know that there is a GIANT grey market in the cosmetic world? Not only does it exist online, but it’s sprinkled through the aisles of the supermarkets and pharmacies. We, as the consumer, have no idea who or where these products came from. There is a good chance they have been sitting in a warehouse for too long, are expired or have been tampered with. Make sure you are buying the right stuff, at the end of the day make sure you can at least get your money back for your purchase if you’re not in love with it. Most salons will honour your return and be more than happy to give you a second professional opinion on what to try next.

· You are supporting your Stylist. When you purchase from your stylist you are supporting their business and also giving them access to further their education, which in return helps you receive the best quality service. Most salons have programmes set up with their suppliers that allows them to earn free education on things like new techniques and new products.
